South Africa-bound
Do you know anyone in South Africa I should meet? I'm going to Cape Town and Jo'burg, South Africa next month. I am speaking at this conference:
Realising Our Human Potential: Creating the Shift Towards a Sustainable Future
My conference topic explores ways that contracts and legal documents can create sustainable relationships. My co-presenter, Amanda Boardman of Shark Free Waters and I are going to tour South Africa and spread the word about the integrative law movement. She's even starting a Centre for Integrative Law in South Africa. LegalBrief, a South African legal publication, announced my trip and I've been impressed by the well-known leaders who are responding.
Send me an email if you have contacts for us!
Warmly,
Kim
PS: Just because I've been quiet, please don't think that nothing is happening. Quite the opposite: I've been in a whirlwind of activity.
I've criss-crossed the United States. I was in Canada and Australia. I've been involved in a couple of dozen conferences and events. In June, my articles on integrative law were published in national legal publications in Canada and Australia. (I republished them on Cutting Edge Law.)
I taught a 3 credit course on Integrative Law in the summer session at Charlotte Law School.
My law and coaching practices have been dormant for a couple of years as I've traveled. In the past few weeks, they've caught fire. I am working with companies on making their legal documents align with their values. I've realized that is a big unmet need and a lot of companies are excited to have the help. I am especially enjoying face to face, private retreats with one or two lawyers. I am a thinking partner who helps lawyers create personal strategic plans, from vision to action. I do one-on-one coaching by phone and in person, mostly with lawyers.
I'm planning to take off some time in November and December to catch up, write a more detailed end of year report, and share some more stories.
