Leadership Education in the Legal Academy: Principles, Practices and Possibilities
Editor's Note: What's law got to do with leadership? In case it isn't obvious, try this on: Lawyers fill the judiciary and are a significant presence in the legislative and executive branches. 170 members of the US House of Representatives and 58 US Senators have law degrees. They serve on city councils, county commissions, in state offices, as administrators and legislators. They are key members of boards of directors in business and non-profits. People go to lawyers when they need help and count on our advice and counsel in making their decisions. Is there another profession for which leadership is MORE important?

Stella Rabaut: 21st Century Lawyer
One of our most articulate and centered pioneers, Stella Rabaut spoke to us in Monterey, California in October, 2008. The interview was naturally punctuated with pleasant moments of silence, as we contemplated not only the subject matter but Stella's peaceful way of being.
Stella's diverse career spans three decades in the legal profession, as oil and gas litigator, private practitioner, nonprofit and in-house counsel, law teacher, and retreat leader.
